Anastasia is a dark chocolate brown lab mix I adopted in July 2004 when she was only about 12 weeks old. She is the first pet dog I have ever had.

I first found out about Anastasia when a coworker sent an email out saying how the vet her boyfriend sends her dog too had a dog looking for a home.  I was told by my coworker, that someone had adopted her, but being a hyper puppy, she was scaring a little child who lived in the home, so the family had returned her back to the vet.

When I first got the email I wasn't even actively looking for a dog. I had just moved into my house about a month before and was still trying to settle in. I discussed it with my roomate Jerry at the time and he seemed ok with it and was talking about us getting a dog anyway, even before I moved into the house.

With some interest, I called the vet and setup to meet Anastasia. It was a Thursday evening after work that I met her. The vet technician took me into a room and brought a little black puppy out. We were then left alone in the room. She didn't pay too much attention to me and just sniffed around the room and urinated in the corner. I picked her up and put her on a table and she just walked around it. When the technican walked back in, I decided to take her and said I would pick her up the next evening.
