Angriest Cities

Aug 24, 2006

Steffan brought up this article about the angriest cities and it seems our city placed number one....

I'll list some of the things that make me angry while living in Orlando:

  1. People who throw garbage our their car windows and basically anywhere on the street. What do you people think, the earth is your garbage dump? When I'm riding my bike or taking a run around the neighborhood, I don't want to have to dodge broken bottles and chik-fil-a bags.
  2. Home Owner Associations. When I come home after a hard day at work, the last thing I want is a HOA telling me I'm not keeping up my yard, when they really have no idea how much work I've put into it. Plus the doubling of fees sucks too.
  3. Red Light Runners. There isn't a day that goes by when I don't see someone or a group of cars going through a red light. When my light turns green, I shouldn't have to wait for people who keep going through that just nearly turned red left turn signal. If there were cops at every corner, they'd be making a killing off of tickets. Just last year we were hit by someone going full speed through a red light, leading me to a couple months of physical therapy and thousands in medical bills.
  4. People who don't use their turn signals. It's common courtesy to let people know that you are about to cut them off, so they can give you some space, instead of me having to slam my brakes.

Anyway, these are some of the things in Orlando that make me angry. And when this happens, I take a big deep breath, let it out slowly and go on my merry way....
