San Fancisco, California

Apr 22, 2007

I spent the past week in San Francisco. The first 4 days, Saturday through Wednesday, I was attending the Web 2.0 Expo with 3 other coworkers. Afterwards Leala flew in Thursday morning and we did some siteseeing until that Sunday.

The trip started the morning of Saturday April 14th. She drove me to the airport at 6am. My Orbitz printout said I was flying on United Airlines. So I stood online to check in. As I was standing on the line, I heard another passenger behind me ask a United worker about his printout saying United Airlines operated by US Airways. I noticed my printout said the same thing, but the worker told him it was ok. Say I stayed on the line for about 10 minutes. When I got to the desk, the guy told me I had to go to the US Airways desk. Thinking I would be lake, i ran to US Airways, which was on the other side of the terminal.

When I got to US Airways, they allowed me to skip in front of line and I checked in my luggage and received my boarding pass. So I ran again to security. The line was about a 5 minute wait and when I got the the security worker, they said the name on the ticket wasn't mine. It turned out the US Airways employee gave me a ticket to some lady named Eleanor. During the rush for me to get my boarding pass, I didn't even think to check if my name was correct. So I ran back to the US Airways desk, passed by everyone in line and trying to catch my breath, stated that they gave me the wrong ticket.

The expo was at the Moscone expo center, near Union Square. I attended tutorials that Sunday and sessions Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
